Myanmar

Oil on Box Canvas 460 mm X 605 mm Unframed, Ready to Hang

full title: Myanmar : after the ablutions, hunt for the Rohingyas. Maim, torture, rape, burn them.

The painting is based on the genocide by the buddhist regime and military against Rohingya muslims in Rakhin state of the country. This includes torture, killing, rape of women and children, burning of hamlets, etc. The atrocities have resulted in Rohingya fleeing the country in hundreds of thousands. Estimates vary from 700,000 to 1.1 million. Most seek refuge in neighbouring Bangladesh in some temporary sub-human camps while some flee to Thailand, Malaysia, etc. Children being born out of rape of women is a major future problem.
