This painting is based on Vladimir Nabokov's novel - 'Transparent Things'.The
protagonist - Hugh Person - has a recurrent nightmare.The painting tries
to depict this.In the novel it reads -
'In...an...ominous nocturnal experience, he would find himself trying
to stop or divert a trickle of grain or fine gravel from a rift in the
texture of space and being hampered in every conceivable respect by ...collapsing
colossuses....finally blocked by masses of rubbish, and THAT was death.'
This image has been used by 'andolan' in their special issue Jan-Feb 2014
